ARTISTSSaturday 23 10 2010
23:00:00 - 00:30:00(Brussels (BE)) - concert |
Yoan is attending his second year of electro acoustic studies at the Royal Academy of Mons. This eighties boy is born in Namur and currently lives in Brussels. With precision he gathers sound objects from many and strangest sources and creates new soundscapes. This project is specifically made for the Los Ninos event. He has named it "Somniloquy". His night fears and sleepwalking have inspired him. The audience may not always be able to recognize the original sounds he uses, like deconstructed and unlogic talk of people suffering from a disorder. At 23:00 he will create a live sound experience dedicated to our specific venue, the Congres Station, including the sound of the Los Ninos hero: the Russian doll born as Masja and supported by video and photo shoots. . Little by little, loops, beats and exquisite digitalized sounds will get your feet moving. |

Tom Van der Borght
(Gent (BE)) - visuals
Tom Van der Borght (BE-1978) is a last year Fashion Design Student at the Academy of Fine Arts of Sint-Niklaas. After a first career in social work, he returned at the age of 27 to his childhood, when he was constructing crazy pieces next to his mother who’s a classical trained sewing teacher. In 2008 he starts his fashion education, and in 2009 he works as an intern for Maureen Declerq (Antwerp) who’s also a teacher at Antwerp Fashion Academy. In 2011 he wins the Belgian Final of the Triumph Inspiration Award and competes in the world final. His piece therefor is worn by Lily Cole and shot by Ellen Von Unwerth. His work is all about texture, volumes and colour ..., Old handcrafts like crochet and cross-stitch embroideries co-exist with self-developped colorful prints. He creates an image of a super-human. Strong looks based on larger-then-life volumes inhabit Tom’s playful and nostalgic universe. “...my work is all about hiding and showing. I use layering, extreme detailling and bold combinations of colors, prints and materials to challenge people to discover my work in a personal way ...” He has a strong technical approach to his work, and all pieces, from clothing to shoes, hats and accessoires are fully handmade by Tom. White Lies
(London (UK)) - dj
White Lies are the glowering, glistening, moody, magnificent, cheekbones-of-granite, stone cold future of Rock… As teenagers in what now seems a different life, they were a band called Fear Of Flying. They’d known each other since they were babies in West London. Starting with a jagged and jittery desire to make any music they could and influenced by each member’s vastly different musical taste, they gradually honed their style into a more atmospheric, grandiose beast. White Lies were go. Their music blooms with darkness, maturity and density. Their image blackened to suit their new mood and their gigs began to rage with such devout intensity that some fans were literally driven to tears. Writer of the band’s striking lyrics, Charles is a fresh, invigorating and slightly deviant new storyteller entering an indie landscape. He is the creator of these dark, cinematic tales of murder, madness, revenge, loss and love from beyond the grave. "Unfinished Business is a spectral tale of an argument between two lovers which goes wrong", Charles explains. “And we have a song called E.S.T which deals with the issues and morals of electric shock therapy.” 2009 was a massive year touring with Coldplay and Kings of Leon. 2010 was stuffed with tour dates, including some exclusive dj dates such as for Los Ninos. They just announced that they're working on a 3rd album so it's the ideal time to call them on stage for a surprise dj set ! |

SixSixSixties
(Antwerp (BE)) - dj
He who leaves dance floors undecided between romance or wildness. Man of few words Sixsixsixties is Belgian’s quintessential master of ceremony, both when playing records or promoting nights. As co-founder and driving force of the now-defunct Holger nights in Brussels, he is to blame many nostalgic echoes (“insert memory summer boat party”), a footprint later witnessed in his hometown Antwerp when taking the job as promotor of the temporary 21st-floor Klub Goud. Nowadays he co-runs traveling queer safe space SPEK covering the walls of sleazy basements, Turkish wedding venues and crummy nightclubs with festive fluids all around the country and plays parties as one third of dj-collective Snoephut. He holds a monthly residency on Kiosk Radio and has been touching ground in Berlin, London, Kopenhagen or anywhere a crowd of free spirited dancers is awaiting his dubby grooves, balearic excursions and joyous house beats. |

Pop Rules
(Antwerpen (BE)) - dj
Pop Rules says "Pop becomes Underground the moment it acknowledges its position as Pop. Underground becomes Pop the moment it acknowledges its position as Underground". This Antwerp pop lover loves not only pop. He praises music as his inspiration, motivation and strength. “To live without my music would be impossible to do in this world of troubles my music pulls me through” He breathes fashion without attitude, he inhales parties, he plays with words, words with meaning. "Don't drop bombs, play pop". He truly is "Sage comme une image" |

Tina Sabrina Joyce
(Antwerpen (BE)) - performance
Ruud Rudy van Moorleghem has graduated from KASK in Ghent direction "Mediakunst". Since 2006 he has done expos and performances in Antwerp and Ghent. Los Ninos will be his Brussels debute. The next 2 years he will be split i 2 : getting his master degree in visual arts in Ghent and attending Art Academy in Munster. His works are sourced from dreams and visions. Nightlife is an important theme. He uses different media to work out his idea or dream. The spectator often plays an important role in his work. They are challenged to take different positions to be able to have a good look at his work. They are even confronted with their own human behavior. Apart from art, he drinks, dances and sleeps in public. French kissing is one of his hobbies. His show will be a sequel to the Tina Sabrina Joyce performance of October 2010, called "Let Me Be Your Fantasy". It's a mixture of violence, sexy fantasies and cute dance steps. Two monsters will show the dreams of our dear friend Tina Sabrina Joyce. Quite a shame Tina can't come as she currently is in a place where vagina transplants are done. Let the monster seduce or disgust you. |
