Strapontin’s music is a cross between a slow and rough techno project, an original soundtrack of a thriller movie and a groovy disco band that you want to hate but you can’t because you’re dancing on it. After releasing the deep and sweaty Superchérie EP on Berlin-based I’m Single Record and self-releasing the electrical Carbon EP he started composing music for choreographers and short movies, driving his music more and more into a research of atmospheres and heavy grounded grooves. Strapontin is a soldier of the House nation digging his secret burrow very deep, waiting for you in there with tea and nail polish, thinking that one day, he will be a rockstar. |

Zebra Katz
(New York (USA)) - concert
Zebra Katz is the stage name of Ojay Morgan, an American rapper best known for his 2012 single "Ima Read". He is part of a wave of "queer hip hop" artists who emerged in the 2010s, who were influenced by elements of the LGBT African American ball culture. The single "Ima Read", which took off when fashion designer Rick Owens used a repeated loop of the song to soundtrack his 2012 show at Paris Fashion Week, was released on Jeffree's, Diplo's imprint for the Mad Decent record label. Its video was directed by RUBEN XYZ. It has been described by The Guardian as "queer rap's crossover hit", and has been widely remixed by artists as diverse as Tricky, Azealia Banks, Gangsta Boo, Grimes and Busta Rhymes. Zebra Katz was originally created while Morgan was studying at Eugene Lang College in New York City, growing out of a performance art piece called "Moor Contradictions". He subsequently worked on songs and videos as a hobby while working as a manager for a catering company, and began to pursue music more actively when he started garnering wider attention following the Owens show. Morgan conceives of Zebra Katz as "the dark rapper, the dark villain, the dark lord of the fashion world". The single "Ima Read" is an allusion and tribute to Paris Is Burning, the influential 1990 documentary film about ball culture. Morgan has since released two mixtapes, Champagne (2012) and DRKLNG (2013). He has performed many concerts in the United States and the United Kingdom, both solo and as an opening act for Azealia Banks, as well as Scissor Sisters, and has also released several follow-up singles on Mad Decent. In May 2015, he released his 6-track EP Nu Renegade with Leila. |

Palmbomen II
(Los Angeles (USA)) - dj
Since 2015, Hugo has been releasing under the moniker Palmbomen II. Hugo birthed Palmbomen II while spending a summer watching X-Files in his mother's attic in the Netherlands, and Palmbomen II marks a significant departure from his previous sound on Night Flight Europa. Explaining his moniker change, Hugo tells Dummy Mag: "I wanted to split Palmbomen in two. It's a practical thing. In Palmbomen, I play with a band, and playing live, you have to cheat. I remember trying to emulate the sound with a band playing – we had a gigantic setup, but it was impossible. I thought that if I'm gonna play with a band, I wanna do it with a band – no electronics, no click track, no bullshit. On the other hand, if I want to do electronics, I just want a bunch of drum machines and synthesizers to play around with." He debuted his new moniker with the full-length self-titled album "Palmbomen II", an X-Files inspired Outsider House album in which each track is named after a minor X-Files character. The album was released via Beats In Space on March 3, 2015 and was well received by critics, with a 7.3 out of 10 from Pitchfork and 3.7 out of 5 from Resident Advisor. Approximately a year later, Palmbomen II released "Center Parcs EP", a dreamy IDM album cowritten with fellow Dutch producer Betonkust. Palmbomen II and Betonkust wrote the album over the course of a rainy weekend at the virtually abandoned holiday resort "Center Parcs De Eemhof", drawing inspiration from the shiny façade and inauthenticity of "swimming paradises". Center Parcs EP was released via the Vancouver-based label 1080p on February 26, 2016. |

Bruce Botnik
(Brussels (BE)) - dj
Bruce Botnik was born in the cold winter of 1985 in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, where his father at the time was doing research on Polyvinylchloride. From his mother, the famous hippie model Sky Larissa Evans, he inherited the love for music and single malt bourbon. At the age of only ten, Bruce played the cello, bass drum and the piano, in which he excelled. In doing so, the Queen of England invited him to play Dvorak on her birthday party at Buckingham Palace. When asked for a comment, Bruce stated: "She's a MILF." On October 6th 1998 at about 4 a.m. after witnessing a Dj Derek gig, the thirteen year old Bruce Botnik started dj-ing on the beer-drenched pick-up in a nearby striptease bar his oncle owned. Growing older and more skilled, he exchanged his public of strippers and transvestites for steaming parties all over Europe. Mixing electro with EBM, rave, dubstep and the Doors, Bruce enjoys setting a dancefloor on fire as much as making analogue pictures of old people and genitals. He needs no more than a bottle and a decent blowjob to stirr up a crowd with pounding sweaty music. Let's make our biography together. |
