Like many kids in late 80s/early 90s Belgium, AAGUILAA was captivated by the swirling innovation of EBM and New Beat. But only after experiencing the full-body feeling of italo disco and hi-NRG played over a proper soundsystem he matured his lifetime love for neon lights and for the darker, synthesized side of dance music.

He is resident and programmer at Los Niños but also known as the founder of FFORMATT, our temporary cultural space in the heart of Brussels, now closed.

Born and raised in Costa Rica, Paul’s deep-rooted passion for music extends far beyond the decks. A distinguished DJ, vinyl collector, and Opera Stage Director for the Costa Rican Ministry of Culture, he seamlessly bridges the worlds of electronic and classical music. As a resident DJ at the world-renowned Club Vertigo for over a decade, he has consistently shared the booth with some of the most influential figures in the international underground scene, earning recognition for his ability to craft immersive, extended sets.

A regular at the most prestigious clubs and festivals in the region, Paul’s influence is now resonating globally. He is also the visionary founder of GAG, SPUNK, and WARP Festival — celebrated LGBTQIA+ platforms that champion queer artistry and foster inclusivity within the electronic music community in Central America.

His meticulously curated, predominantly vinyl-based sets reflect an immense breadth of musical knowledge, blending house and techno into a fluid, genre-defying journey. Renowned for his refined taste and ability to weave together the roots of underground electronic music, he has cultivated a distinctive identity where the element of surprise is his signature. His sets defy expectations—an ever-evolving sonic experience that makes him a truly exceptional artist.

Rooted in the queer party scene, 131bpm is a dancefloor troublemaker known for stirring up energy wherever he plays.

With a constantly evolving sound, he’s carving out a reputation as both DJ and producer, celebrated for his distinctive blend of booty-shaking and intense back-breaking rhythms.

Drawing from a wide array of musical influences including fierce diva house, classic Detroit electro, 90's groovy progressive, or raunchy Latin music, his productions and DJ sets are a sensory experience — sweaty, sexy, and infused with catchy basslines, nasty vocals, and bouncy percussion.

Since becoming a resident at Milan’s Vitamina party in 2018, 131bpm’s presence has only grown.
In August 2023, he released his debut album on Berlin’s Body Language —eponymous party where he’s also been a regular resident since 2022 — an eight tracker party ready, including a later remix album including BASHKKA, Roza Terenzi, Kodemul, and more.
