Retro Invasion and beyond
It’s obvious: a lot is recycled these days. People feel an urgent need to bring back “those days†which they maybe never have gone through themselves. Call it retro, call it vintage, call it nostalgia, they just call it “good stuff from the 40’s till the 60’sâ€. Yep, that’s what the Boppin’ Benvis Brothers bring every weekend again: tunes to bop, dance or jitterbug to. Main ingredients are rockabilly, ska, mambo, soul and rock all mixed in a magical jukebox potion.
Mister Benvis, Timothy Love and Natty Needle are living fast but don’t feel the urge to die young. There’s a lot of work to do in “Going Out in Styleâ€, so put on your best suit and get your lipstick ready, cause it’s time to meet each other again on the dancefloor! Enchanté !

Jean Biche is a performance artist, graphic artist and musician who creates a unique theatrical universe of baroque and often disturbing images which challenge the viewer with unresolved questions of personal boundary and the significance of ritual.
His work specifically unseats rote notions of sacrifice, heartbreak and gender by combining pop references, legend and nostalgia in subversive an unexpected combinations, a process which has been said to resemble a medieval exorcism in its erasure of comfortable presumption and unforgettable enigmatic tableaux.
Jean Biche earned his Masters degree in Illustration at La Cambre in 2001, and takes inspiration in his work from such outsider artists as Leigh Bowery or Felix Gonzales-Torres.
Jean Biche has collaborated with Yves-Noël Genod, An Pierlé, Damien Jalet, Pierre Droulers, Laetitia Bica, Mademoiselle Jean, Dominique Thirion, and many more.
