Mx. Sür — From Istanbul’s Underground to Berlin’s Queer Stage. Mx. Sür (KIM), a visionary DJ, producer, graphic artist, and LGBTQIA+ rights activist, embarks on their next chapter in Berlin after profoundly shaping Istanbul's queer nightlife for nearly two decades. Since 2007, Mx. Sür's boundary-breaking sets—from Detroit techno to synth-pop—have united dancefloors with messages of resistance, inclusivity, and freedom. As a key figure behind iconic venues like Wake Up Call, Suma Beach, and Mama, and the mastermind of queer party series such as Come To Mama!, TUTTIFRUTTI, and XES, Mx. Sür transformed nightlife into a radical cultural haven. With the label XSM Recordings, they broadened the boundaries of queer expression. Their track “ALAN2020”, co-created with Kübra Uzun, became an emblematic anthem of pride and solidarity. Their impressive global trajectory includes performances at beloved underground venues across Berlin, Amsterdam, Lisbon, Paris, and São Paulo — as well as a celebrated appearance on Boiler Room, where Mx. Sür brought Istanbul’s queer underground energy to an international audience.
